About Eldorado:

Hi, my name is Holly Scott.

My love for animals extends back to my childhood.  I had guinea pigs, hamsters, rabbits, gerbils and my beloved dogs and cats.  Freckles, a cocker mix stray my dad brought home to my delight, and Peanuts, a terrier mix.  I adopted all strays and “fixed them” by attending to their wounds with extravagant bandages and various ointments or remedies.

My goal in life was to be a veterinarian.  A lofty goal at that time.  Life happened and as it turned out, I became a Certified Vet Tech.  Later, I was recruited by the University of Colorado Medical Center to help in Cardiology research.  I developed advanced surgical skills in my job – something I would never had been able to do working at the clinical level.

I started an obedience class with a Lab/Dobe mix named Roscoe and my first pure-bred, a Dobe named Tahnee in the mid 1970’s I started an obedience class with a new puppy, Crystal, a chocolate Lab.  While in training, my instructor, Jeanne Cook, mentioned trying for a CD title on Crystal.  I got a CD on both Crystal and Tahnee and on to a CDX on Crystal.  Crystal also won several retrieving awards and was a wonderful field dog for hunting.

Enter the MASTIFFS!!  I helped rescue my first Mastiff, Yogi (Gulph Mills Mr. Bear To You, CD).  He was bred by Mike and Dee Gensburg of Gulph Mills Mastiffs and when we got him home, he was a very fearful young dog.  I started him in obedience immediately.  When we were ready, he obtained his CD in three trials.  Some judges at that time had never even judged a Mastiff in obedience!

By then, I had been “dabbling” in conformation by showing Bullmastiffs for friends and an occasional Mastiff.  I was a natural.  When I got my first “show dog”, Fannie, I was ready.  Handling came very easy for me.  I showed with/for Ted Browning, a professional handler for several years, honing my skills.

I was very successful in the ring with Fannie.  She was ranked in BOB and BOS points every year she showed.  I bred a litter out of Fannie and produced Rebel.  Rebel was owner handled to his CH and to the top 10 in group points.

Next was Izzy, a Rebel daughter.  She took Reserve winner’s bitch at the 1994 MCOA Specialty and awarded Best Bred-By Exhibitor in show, judged by the late Mike Gensberger.  Izzy’s brother took Reserve Winner’s dog as well.  Many other awards were given to Rebel puppies that year and that started the “Rebel revolution”.  He was a very popular sire.

I showed Fannie, Rebel, Murphy (half brother to Rebel) to their CD’s as well.  Killian was not shown in conformation enough to get her CH, but she made it up in the obedience class.  She obtained her CD as well and became a very much loved therapy dog, as was Rebel.

I continued to breed and show and was, and still am, quite successful in the whelping box and in the ring.  All of my dogs hold a very special place in my heart, each with their own story.

Most of the pictures shown here are show pictures.  I like my information to be short and sweet.  As I build my website, each dog will have their own page and their own story.

Thank-you for visiting and I hope you enjoy reading about the Eldorado legacy.
